Hi, I am switching from 755 to 1155 socket and I need mobo which I will use next several years.
I bought i5 2550k and I narrowed down to P8Z77-V as my best option but I can not figure out (i googled more than 6 hours) which to choose between following:
– P8Z77-V – $215
– P8Z77-V LE PLUS – $170
– P8Z77-V LX – $133
You don’t have to list all features because i have found them online. All I need is:
– I want to overclock i5 2500k to high as possible, at least 4.5GHz
– I want to be able in several months/years to buy and overclock i7 3770K to at least 4.5-4.7Ghz
– And I need one Sata 3 for my SSD, but all of them have it so its not a problem
I use HD 6870 but would like to upgrade to HD 7970 some day when those get cheaper.
I will use this configuration mainly for work but I want to be able to play games on ultra settings for next couple years with this mobo (with cpu&gpu upgrades).
Absolutely no other option nor gadget is of interest to me and i know there are a LOT of them.
So in one sentence my question would be: are overclocking possibilities for these 3 mobos the same or different?
PLEASE help me with your ADVICE!
Thank you!
Best regards
:) hey tibor, in one short answer I’d say the regular V gives you better overclocking ability. It has slightly higher phase-power (8+4) than the lower models LE or LX (6+2).
thank you for fast reply.. just one more thing… you think, do you think those extra 4 phases worth extra 20% of money?
Besides the phase-power, there are other smaller differences such as SATA Controllers and the support of Quad-SLI. If those are still not in your concern, I’d say LK or LE (no SLI) instead.
wow, no need for quad.. still using only one :) well that would be it. thanx for your help!
Hi there.I am buying a new system for gaming.I consider an Intel Core i5 3570k Ivy bridge cpu and a Sapphire HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 384 bit as gpu.I have a budget of 200~220$ for motherboard.which one will gimme a good gaming performance? also i have Corsair 8GB Dual channel DDR3 2000 mhz ram.
Hi! You will be alright with the LK since it’s more like a minified version of the regular V instead of a totally trimmed edition like LE or LX :) If you’d prefer more stability when overclock and the extra wifi adapter, you should go with the V. Note that the V also comes with a better storage controller but that makes small difference.
Thanks for advice.I’ll get V or V-Pro for better overclocking
thanks for tis! really helpful
Hey Gregor, thanks for dropping by :D !
